The research behind Morro materials began over 15 years ago, at the University of Cambridge
After spinning out of the Knowles Lab in 2018 as Xampla, our expert team worked to scale up our plant-based natural polymers and production processes.
From there, Dr Marc Rodriguez, Chief Technical Officer, led Xampla through a rapid expansion, as we recruited a larger team of global industry experts to work with leading brands and manufacturers.
Motivated by the ever-worsening plastic crisis, the Xampla team brought its range of natural alternatives to market. This core mission was a driver in Xampla becoming the first UK university spin out to be recognised as a B-Corp.
Now Xampla has launched Morro, its first consumer brand, to make it even easier for brands and consumers alike to choose sustainable products.
