Our breakthrough material enables the fortification of beverages with additional wellbeing ingredients.
Morro Nutri ‘micro-packaging’ protects vitamins and nutrients in liquid from UV light, pH and heat shock by encasing them in an edible layer of plant-protein material.
This innovation is critical for shipping fortified drinks in easily recyclable packaging, guarding nutrients such as Vitamin D from UV light during transit and storage.
Our microcapsules can enable brands to package any oil-based vitamin or flavouring, including ingredients such as Omega3 and probiotics, all protected from degradation on their way to consumers.

While consumers are increasingly interested in purchasing products that provide additional health benefits, this has posed a significant challenge for brands.
Previously, brands were forced to rely on costly ‘overage’ of micro nutrients, accepting that the ingredients would deteriorate during the products lifetime, or simply would not add vitamins at all.

Research by Britvic has shown that people are 40% more likely to recycle clear bottles over coloured plastics. However, clear plastic bottles let in UV rays, making vitamins far more vulnerable to degradation.
Morro Nutri micropackages any oil-based vitamin or flavouring, to prevent it from breaking down even in clear plastic bottles.
