Cambridge Network – Xampla appoints new CEO to scale-up plastic-free materials
Cambridge-based Xampla announces the appointment of its new CEO to scale-up the business.
Alexandra French, an experienced chemist with a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, has joined Xampla to lead it through the next phase of growth.
Alexandra brings extensive experience after 25 years at specialty chemicals company, Johnson Matthey, where she held a variety of senior leadership, commercial, operation and technical roles, and her most recent role leading operations at AIM listed company, Titon, across the UK, Europe, the US and South Korea.
Alexandra will spearhead Xampla as the business scales up operations and partnerships with leading brands and manufacturers.
Last month, Xampla launched Morro after consumer insights revealed that more than half of the UK public see plastic as a ‘material of the ‘past’ and three quarters would prefer their products in natural sustainable packaging rather than plastic.
Based on 15 years of research at the University of Cambridge, Morro sustainable materials are a badge for a better future.
The ‘Morro marque’ on packaging will indicate to consumers where its high-performing, plant-based materials have been used to make products.
